You are to find out everything you can about the novelist assigned to you.  You will create a web page which includes the following information, followed by a CD jacket. 

Include in your research/evident on your biographical web page:

Include a photograph (if available)

Comment on the author's style - literary elements such as metaphor,
simile, foreshadowing, tone, etc.  Sentencing - long, short, level of language, vocab, short / long chapters, etc.

What influenced the novelist to write it

bullet

What is the central theme of the novel

bullet

What other major events took place at the time of this writer's work

Give your opinion on the novel, would you recommend it, support your answer with references to the novel

Use the link to the right "Download Now: Windows, English" and then click on Run

Remember to use references for you findings and save everything in your folder.

CD Jacket:

Pretend this novelists' works are being recorded on a CD.  You have been hired to design a CD jacket using the theme from one of the selections you chose to promote the stories.  The jacket must include:

Graphics

bullet

Novelist's name

bullet

Reader's name

bullet

Anything else to sell this CD- make it as attractive as possible, your profits depend on the number of sales you get!

Note:    Use Corel WordPerfect to create your CD jacket.  Just click on File, New from Project, make sure the Create New button is highlighted, click on the "down" arrow to go to Creative Projects, click on CD Cover, then Create.  Remember to save everything in your folder.
